Privacy notice

This is an interim notice while Forge prepares for its App Store release. A full privacy policy for users in the United States and Ukraine will replace this page at launch.

Who runs Forge

Forge is operated by Markiian Podliashetskyi, a sole trader (Einzelunternehmer) registered in Austria and trading as RemSoft.Dev, Wolfsaugasse 10, 1200 Vienna, Austria. VAT ID: ATU81676704. He is responsible for the personal data described here (the data controller). Contact: support@forgewellness.app.

What Forge stores

  • Account: email address, display name and a hash of your password.
  • Profile: age, height, weight, goal and unit preference.
  • Logs: the meals, workouts, weight, water and sleep entries you create, including the text you typed and any photo you attached.
  • Drafts created through a connected assistant (ChatGPT or Claude), until you approve or discard them.
  • Technical: server logs used to troubleshoot errors.

Where it is stored

On servers located in the United States.

Who processes it

  • OpenAI: receives the text and photos you log so they can be turned into food and workout entries.
  • OpenAI and Anthropic: receive what you say to ChatGPT or Claude if you connect them to Forge. That happens under their terms, not ours.
  • WorkOS: handles the sign-in step when you connect an assistant.
  • Resend: sends account emails and, if you joined the waitlist, the launch email.
  • Apple: Sign in with Apple and subscription billing, if you use them.
  • Open Food Facts: when you scan a barcode, Forge's server sends only the barcode number to Open Food Facts to look up the product's nutrition data. No personal data is sent.
  • Hetzner: hosts the app's servers.
  • Vercel: hosts this website and receives the email you enter in the sign-up form.
  • PostHog: cookie-free analytics for this website (pages viewed, button clicks, and approximate location such as country or city; IP addresses are not stored).

Forge does not sell your data and does not use it for advertising.

How long it is kept

Until you delete your account. In the app, go to Profile, then Account Settings, then Delete Account. You are signed out on every device at once, and the account is scheduled for permanent deletion after a 30-day grace period.

Waitlist emails are kept until launch, or until you unsubscribe. If you told us which phone you use (iPhone or Android), or signed up on the Ukrainian page, we put you on a matching list, so the launch email fits your phone and language.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Forge schedules reminders on your iPhone, for example to log a meal. They are scheduled on the device itself; Forge does not send push notifications from its servers. You can turn them off at any time in your iPhone's Settings, under Notifications, then Forge.

Age

Forge is for people aged 16 and over. Do not create an account if you are under 16. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we delete it.

Your choices

Email support@forgewellness.app to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it if you cannot use the app.
